Prayers 10/05/14
OPENING: Let Us Pray: Our God is a awesome God, Who created the entire universe. Let us worship Him here today and bring Him glory. Amen.
O God of commandment and obedience, You gave Your people the gifts of the Ten Commandments so that they might live with order, and live long and happy lives. Your creation lives and thrives because of the laws You have created that govern the universe. Accept our gratitude for Your guidance in our lives and help us to treat Your creation with the respect it deserves.
We do not understand why some people seem to suffer more and some seem to suffer less, but we trust that nothing in Your world happens without purpose. Heal all who suffer in body, mind, or spirit, especially those whom we name before You now... PAUSE
Lord, Your world is just, yet we have too often corrupted it so that children in every corner of the world suffer from poverty, sickness, homelessness, exile, torment, or slavery. Use us in any way You see fit for Your deliverance so that this world can more closely function like heaven on earth. Amen.
