Opening: We are saved by faith through God’s grace today. As we worship You in this place, help us look to You Lord in total obedience. Amen.
WL: David was a sinful man, yet he felt the weight of his wrongdoing and accepted his punishment. Make us truly sorry for our sins that we might find the way to true repentance.
Reader 1: All creation suffers for our greed, mistreatment, and willful ignorance. Turn us to see the disastrous consequences of our misdeeds toward the creatures and resources of this planet, our home. Set our feet upon the path to reconciliation and restoration.
Reader 2: The victims of exploitation too often have no voice in the world. Drive us to seek justice for all who have been abused, harassed, and disadvantaged by those in power over them, and help us create a world where no one is afraid to stand up for what is right.
Reader 3: We suffer when we neglect the needs of others, including ourselves. Move us to care for others who need it, especially for those we name today… (PAUSE)
WL: We rejoice that we take our place among forgiven sinners of every generation. Join our voices will all who sing your eternal praises, both in this life and the one to follow.
WL: Hear our prayers, heal our hearts, and bring us back into your favor, O Lord. We offer these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
