O God, We come to worship today to hear your good news and worship you above all others. Fill us with your love that passes all understanding. We pray this together in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Let us pray:
We live in a world which sometimes appears as a thick, dark gloom. Tragedies which we cannot explain. Sadness with no logical cause or cure. Cruelty beyond comprehension. When we cannot make sense of our lives, make us confident to bring our grief to you
Lord, watch over all those that are traveling this weekend and for those among us that are sick, suffering, or in need of special care. We pray that you touch them with your healing spirit. We lift up those who suffer with depression, chronic pain, or other conditions which push them to their limits. Bless all who need your healing, especially those we love and lift before you now…PAUSE… Give us hearts to support them, even when we cannot understand or experience their suffering.
Heavenly Father, as we remember on this Memorial Day weekend, those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy every day, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Please hold our servicemen and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and your presence. We also remember the families of our troops. We ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes, and we pray that your peace, provision, and strength will fill their lives. May the members of our armed forces be supplied with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord's mighty power to accomplish each task.
In Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN
