Opening
Lord, we come here today to worship and adore You. May our prayers and songs glorify You in heaven. Amen.
Community
WL: Your servant Paul was a force of nature in the formation of the early church. We give thanks that his words endure to this day, so that in them we also may find strength and encouragement in sharing the good news. We remember all who have faithfully served your followers throughout the centuries. Give us the integrity to manage our own affairs and positively influence those who look to us for guidance.
Reader 1: All creation relies upon us to take your mission of stewardship seriously. Grant us wisdom to make sound choices around our use of resources and care of the environment, with a wide vision for how our actions will affect future generations.
Reader 2: We pray for all pastors, lay leaders, and bishops of your church, O Lord. Strengthen them in their calling and may all they do and say witness to your grace and love.
Reader 3: Those who are well have no need of a physician. Though tempted to pretend we are healthy and untroubled, we acknowledge those places where our lives, bodies, and relationships are not whole. Send your Spirit of healing and mercy, both to us and to those whom we name before you today.
…PAUSE…
WL: As Paul remembered the faithful in his prayers, so we now entrust all those for whom we make petitions to your unfailing grace, trusting that you will hear and grant these things through the mercy of your son Jesus. Amen.
