Opening: Let us come back to the heart of worship, where it’s all about you, all about you, Jesus. Amen
WL: Show us the mercy inherent in your law, O God, that we might find healing and purpose in living as your beloved people. Make our witness a blessing to all whom we encounter.
Reader 1: You created all that exists, and yet even you found time to rest. Show us the wisdom in the ebb and flow of life: in seasons of growth and emptiness; in activity and hibernation; in life, death, and rebirth.
Reader 2: When one suffers, all suffer. When we ignore your law, we make less of ourselves and others. Restore us where we have fallen short, and forgive us where we have damaged ourselves, our neighbors, and our environment. We lift up before you all who are suffering and in need of your special healing, especially those we name before you.
…PAUSE.
WL: Our ancestors in the wilderness paved the way for our steps to follow in your precepts. Make us one with them as we all celebrate your wide embrace of the whole human family.
Take these, our prayers, into your heart of mercy, and grant us according to your wisdom, dear Lord and Savior. Amen.
